Thank you Godin for believing in Dan!!! You are great with or without, but recognition is always wonderful. I can't tell you technically whether it's good or bad, only that to me it sounds perfect.

Great playing but IMO you need to keep working on the tone (I know it's an endless journey lol). I assume you didn't use a mic for recording the acoustic?

Whoah, I dunno, I kind of like how bright this sounds, I like the piece, pleading ignorance here...Is this an original composition? One thing I'm not sure about, are you using a pick or is this fingerstyle?

I agree with GGM on this one Dan, beautiful playing but a little bit raspy and a little too much top end in the 8-15 Khz range.
Try using a de-esser at around 9 Khz (sweep thru the band) and/or cut the high end EQ a bit to help reduce a little of the buzziness. But the playing truly was magnificent and I know you had a ball with your new toy !

I agree with Leeds & GGM that the rasp is there... but to a degree I feel it adds a 'realness' to the playing & overal feel plus gives some warmth / depth of connection! So... was a positive to me!
The playing... Well...
As alwayz... you never disapoint!
Truly Stunning would be putting it mild!

Great song Dan! .. I agree with the above comments on the tone being a bit 'tinny' though.. excellent playing! ..just a little tweaking and you'll get it spot on!

I love the feel of this piece, and that guitar sounds bright and saweeeet! How many guitar layers do you have on this one? It sounds great the way you panned everything. Your mixing and production skills are really showing on this one. I can't think of anything I would change to make this sound better than it does now. I like the distorted guitar in the background too. I kept trying to sing to this as I listened though! Too bad the original doesn't have lyrics, heh.

There used to be a 'thriller' programme on British TV that had this as its theme tune; having said that, THIS is pure class. Godin or not, your playing is superb as usual ;clap:

Great quality sound recorting.A bit of buzzing on the strings.Trying to figure out what is the underlining sound on my right side.Sounds like the Mic is very close to the neck of the guitar or something.Anyway this is a great composition and a well arranged piece.Sounds like you have some great layering ideas based in some almost renaissance sounds!Great job!
